Five years of practical experience with the tree screw

We have been regularly installing tree screws in our climbing forest since 2020 and have gained a wealth of valuable experience over the years. At first, screwing in the screws required a lot of strength and time – this was a real challenge, especially when there were many screws to install.

Over time, Helmut has continuously developed the tree screw. One milestone was the introduction of the hexagonal bolt: This means that the screws can now be screwed in quickly and effortlessly using a large impact wrench. This not only saves time, but also significantly reduces the strain on employees and makes work more pleasant.

Helmut's accessories have also been continuously optimised. After only a short time, the platform drilling jig was introduced, which enables precise, faster and straighter construction of the platforms. The drill-milling combination that was also introduced further accelerated the work and saved us a lot of time.

Since the trees are no longer clamped, they have been able to recover visibly. Their thickness has increased significantly and the overall appearance of our climbing forest is now much cleaner and more delicate than before.

Conversion and conclusion:

Over the last four years, we have renewed all platforms and consistently converted all element and safety suspensions to tree screws. We have now installed more than 1,000 tree screws.
